How about the secret of Oscar’s Grind?
Oscar’s Grind is a very basic system that seems to work well if you adhere to a strict win goal and
a loss limit. It is sold via mail order for up to $50 because it usually works if you follow the instructions.
Wanna know how craps pros maximize their winnings by using Oscar’s Grind?
Let’s find out now just how they do it – and how you can do it too!
You start out on the pass line. If you lose, your next bet stays the same. If you win, increase
your bet by one unit. If you win again, you should bet only enough to insure a profit, and then continue betting the same amount until you reach your goal. In any case, your win goal is 50% of your buy
in. So if you color in for $500, you should stop when you’ve won $250. Your loss limit is ten betting units, so if your unit bet is $5, you should stop betting when you are down $50. This is a flat bet
pass line system, so you must not add odds or make any other bets.
Let’s look at some examples.
You color in for $500 and have a unit bet of $5. You bet one red chip on the pass line and win your
first bet. Your next bet is $10, which loses. You stay at $10 and lose again, so you are now down a total of $15. You bet $10 and win, so you are still down by $5. You increase your pass line bet one
unit to $15 and win, so you are now ahead by $10. Even though you won, you stay at the $15 level because you are ahead. Even if you win the next five rolls, you are to stay at the $15 level.
Now let’s say you lose your first six $5 bets on the pass line, so you’re down $30. Your next bet
would be $5 of course. You win this seventh bet so you’re now down $25. Your eighth bet is for $10 and you win so now you’re down only $15. Your ninth bet is $15 and you win so you are even, but not
ahead. Your tenth bet is $20 and you win so you now will stay at that $20 level because you are now ahead.
The real secret to Oscar’s Grind is in the shooter, so judge yours accordingly. You don’t have to
bet on every one and a good way to determine the shooter’s skill is to watch him. Does he bet big on himself and small on everyone else? Does he carefully set and throw the dice? If you have any negative
feelings at all about the shooter then you should pass him by and wait for the next one. But remember where you were in your betting progression and start from there.
A simple offshoot of this system is to indeed bet on every shooter but determine just by looking at
him and how he bets whether to bet on the pass or don’t pass. If you do this you will be switching back and forth between shooters but keeping the same progression. Let’s look at an example.
The new shooter is young and constantly talks to his girlfriend, explaining the bets he should have
made on the last shooter but didn’t. Then he puts a white chip down instead of a red one. You think for a millisecond and put a red chip on the don’t pass. Surprise he sevens out right away so you’re
ahead $5. The next shooter is a woman but she watches the way the stickman returns the dice to her and starts to set them right away. Now you pop $10 on the pass line. You win but since you’re ahead, you
stay at the $10 level until you either reach your win goal or have a loss, in which case you drop down to $5 again.
Oscar’s grind is a easy system to play, and it’s fun to judge the shooters just before they shoot.
You won’t get them right all the time, but once you get used to it, you’ll get them right most of the time!
