HEDGE BETTING THE SIX AND EIGHT

One of the smart bets on the craps table is a place bet on the 6 and 8. However, when the
shooter throws the unmentionable number on a point roll, your 6 and 8 bets become the property of the casino. Here is a betting system that's designed to hedge your place bets by making a simultaneous
bet on the don't pass. It works as follows:
- Make your first bet $10 on the don't pass line on the come out roll.
- If 4, 5, 9, or 10 becomes the shooter point, then make a $6 place bet on the 6 and another $6 place bet on the 8.
- If neither the 6 or 8 is rolled on the next three rolls, tell the dealer to take down your two place bets.
- If one of the place bets is rolled within the next three dice rolls, immediately take down both place bets along with your $7 profit.
The strategy behind this system is to hope the shooter throws the 6 or 8 within three rolls after placing them. If the shooter tosses the unmentionable (seven) instead,
you will lose both place bets but your don't pass hedge bet would win $10. You net loss is limited to only $2.
The system also allows you to take down an immediate profit if either the 6 or 8 is rolled. In the
event the shooter doesn't throw the 6, 8 or the 7 within three rolls, let the don't pass bet stay and hope the shooter throws the unmentionable number. If he does, you will win $10 on your don't pass bet.
What if the shooter throws a 6 or 8 on the come out roll? No problem, just make a place bet for $12
on the opposite number and follow the above rules.
Hedge betting the 6 and 8 is a conservative way to bet on these numbers. When they appear fairly
frequently, you'll generate some nice profits with this system. The last time I played it, 4 consecutive shooters threw the 6 or 8 within 3 rolls (a winner for the place bets) and then they obligingly
threw the unmentionable number (also a winner for the don't pass bet). That's the best possible sequence of rolls to really capitalize on this betting system.
